Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree and Education Specialist’s Degree in School Psychology. (known as a 6th year Advanced degree)
Knowledge and experience implementing evidence-based mental health interventions for students experiencing behavioral, social and emotional challenges in school.
Licensing / Certification Requirements:
DPI licensure.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Knowledge of public school law, ethics and standards of practice for School Psychology.
Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSOS).
Knowledge of the MTSS framework and the Whole Child Model for providing educational supports for students.
Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the school environment.
Ability to use data to formulate recommendations and to assist in the decision-making process for students.
Ability to be self-directed, responsible and complete work within prescribed timelines.
Ability to work collaboratively with all school stakeholders.
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights. The work requires activities involving driving automotive equipment.
